Clenbuterol is a medication primarily used for treating bronchial asthma. However, in the realm of bodybuilding and fitness, it is recognized for its fat-burning abilities.

Clenbuterol is not classified as an anabolic steroid but rather belongs to the group of adrenergic agonists. As a beta-2 agonist, it binds to receptors in both fat and muscle tissues. However, it acts as a fat burner specifically in adipose tissues. Once clenbuterol binds to these receptors, it triggers a series of biochemical reactions that lead to an increase in the synthesis of cAMP (cyclic adenosine monophosphate). cAMP, in turn, activates enzymes that facilitate the release of fatty acids from adipocytes (fat cells) into the bloodstream for energy utilization.

Furthermore, clenbuterol exhibits the ability to block muscle atrophy mechanisms.

Importantly, clenbuterol can be used by women without the risk of virilization or other androgenic side effects.

For men, a recommended cutting and weight loss dose of clenbuterol ranges from 100 to 140 mcg per day. Women typically use a lower average dose of 60-100 mcg per day for fat burning purposes. The clenbuterol cycle should last for 2 weeks. Receptor tolerance develops rapidly, leading to decreased effectiveness. Therefore, it is necessary to take a 2-week break while using an antiallergic agent (e.g., ketotifen) to restore the sensitivity of beta-2 adrenergic receptors.

A scientifically substantiated break is essential due to the loss of sensitivity in beta-adrenergic receptors, which takes several days to regenerate. During the first week, the clenbuterol dose should be gradually increased. It is optimal to take clenbuterol in the morning to avoid insomnia, as its effectiveness is higher during those hours. As the dosage increases, it is advisable to split the intake into two doses: one in the morning and another in the afternoon.
