Purposes of Use:

Cabergoline is a prolactin inhibitor commonly used to counteract these effects. Mechanism of Action:

Cabergoline is a selective dopamine receptor agonist with high specificity for the dopamine D2 receptor. It effectively inhibits prolactin secretion by mimicking the actions of dopamine on the D2 receptor. This inhibitory effect helps regulate prolactin levels and does not significantly affect other pituitary hormones like growth hormone, luteinizing hormone, corticotrophin, or thyroid-stimulating hormone.

How to Use:

For progestin anabolic steroid cycles, a typical dose of cabergoline is 0.25 mg every 7-21 days. The optimal dosage and frequency should be determined based on individual response and regular monitoring of prolactin levels. Athletes and bodybuilders usually take lower doses for a 4-6 week period to inhibit prolactin secretion, in combination with adjusting their drug regimen.

In a medical setting, the initial dosage of cabergoline to inhibit prolactin secretion is 500 mcg per week, divided into one or multiple doses on separate days.

If prolactin levels exceed the permissible range, the frequency of administration may increase to 0.25 mg every 4 days. Regular monitoring of prolactin levels is advised, with adjustments made to the dosage as needed.

Warnings:

• Caberg oline should not be used in individuals with uncontrolled hypertension or known hypersensitivity to ergot derivatives.
