Description

Letrozole is a potent and highly selective third-generation non-steroidal reversible aromatase inhibitor. Originally developed as an antineoplastic drug for the treatment of breast cancer, aromatase inhibitors are commonly used to lower estrogen levels and increase testosterone production in men. Letrozole cannot decrease already elevated estradiol levels, but it can prevent further estrogen formation.

In bodybuilding, aromatase inhibitors are primarily used during anabolic steroid cycles. It is important to note that not all anabolic steroids undergo aromatization. Letrozole is typically used in conjunction with testosterone and its derivatives, such as methandrostenolone and methyltestosterone.

Moderate estrogen levels are beneficial for muscle growth, mood, and libido, so prophylactic dosages are recommended to maintain the necessary estrogen balance in men.

How to use

An optimal approach is to monitor estradiol levels every 10-14 days when using anabolic steroids with short half-lives (e.g., testosterone propionate, methandrostenolone) or after 3-4 weeks with long-acting esters (e.g., enanthate, Sustanon, cypionate). Based on the results, an initial dosage of Letrozole is typically prescribed at 0.25 mg per day or every other day. After 10 days, another estradiol analysis is conducted, and the dosage is adjusted accordingly.

An effective dosage of Letrozole starts as low as 0.02 mg, which is 100 times lower than the therapeutic dose. This dose can reduce estrogen levels by approximately one-third. Letrozole has a half-life of 2-4 days, allowing for every other day dosing. It is crucial to choose the dosage based on blood test results to avoid over-suppressing estrogen levels.
